TURKEY TREATMENT CENTER - FACULTY

A world-class faculty has been compiled to assist in the establishment of an addiction treatment center in Gaziantep, Turkey. Detailed descriptions of our current partners are below. If you are interested in being involved in this project, please contact us.

 
Dr. David J. Powell, Ph.D

Dr. David J. Powell, Ph.D. is President of the International Center for Health Concerns, Inc., and founder of the International Center for Addiction Studies. He has been in the mental health and addictions field since 1965. His nine books are primary texts in the field. He is a world-renowned trainer and consulting, lecturing in over 80 countries and all 50 U.S. states. He has served on advisory boards at Harvard Medical School and Johns Hopkins University. He is a licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor, and Diplomat in the International Academy of Behavioral Medicine. He has lectured at Princeton, Yale, Rutgers, and other universities. He is currently assisting in the development of 12 Step programs and addiction treatment programs in China and other Asian nations.

 
Dr. Mark Publicker, MD

Dr. Mark Publicker, MD is the Medical Director of the Mercy Hospital Recovery Center in Portland, Maine, President of the Maine Society of Addiction Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.  Trained as a family physician with post-graduate psychiatric training and certified in Addiction Medicine, he focuses on the treatment of addictive disorders. He was the Co-Chair of the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment's Office Based Opioid Treatment panel. Dr. Publicker is an expert mentor for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) Physician Clinical Support System (PCSS). He is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. 

 
Dr. Bill Mock, Ph.D

Dr. Bill Mock, Ph.D. world renowned family therapist and trainer. Faculty of the International Center for Addiction Studies, Asia. He is the Executive Director of the Center for Interpersonal Development and the Chief Trainer for the Ohio Institute for Addiction Studies. His academic degrees include a Doctorate in Psychology and Masters in Social Work. He is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, a licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Independent Social Worker, and Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor III. He has expertise in chemical dependency treatment, family systems treatment, and organizational systems development.

 
Dr. Marc Fishman

Dr. Marc Fishman, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Medical Director, Maryland Treatment Centers. He has focused on models of treatment outcomes in adolescent addictions and has been principal investigator for several projects funded by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment to improve adolescent treatment. He is President-Elect of the Maryland Society of Addiction Medicine and chair of the Treatment Criteria, Outcome, and Clinical Performance Measures Committee of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and co-editor of the ASAM Patient Placement Criteria for the Treatment of Substance-Related Disorders, Second Edition-Revised (PPC-2R).

 
Mr. Stephen Andrew

Mr. Stephen Andrew, He is a trainer and Chief Energizing Officer of Health Education Training Institute and the co-founder of the Men’s Resource Center of Southern Maine. He was a former Substance Abuse Coordinator for a public school system, and former Executive Director of an adolescent alcohol and drug prevention/treatment agency, founder of a recovery camp for adults. He is a member of the International Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT), a MIA-STEP trainer (Motivational Interviewing Assessment; Supervisor Training Program) for the New England ATTC. Stephen has been MITI trained and has over 100 hours of training in Motivational Interviewing.

 
Dr. Munidasa Winslow

Dr. Munidasa Winslow, is a senior consultant psychiatrist at Raffles Hospital, Singapore. He has worked in the addictions field for 20 years, and developed hospital and community-based programs in Singapore. He has chaired national committees to establish national clinical practice guidelines for medicine and addictions and the Singaporean anti-inhalant abuse committee. He is the founder of Community Addiction Management Program, Singapore and is an expert in treating adolescents. Dr. Winslow is an Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore with Duke University.
